A Koi Story

Jack B got out of school early last Friday, so Mommy thought it would be a good idea to take Jack B to the Earl Burns Japanese Garden to feed the koi fish.
So Jack B and Mommy are at the garden, feeding the fish, walking around and admiring the flowers. There is bridge with a railing at the garden that faces a waterfall. Koi fish swim underneath and you are able to look at the fish as they swim back and forth. Koi fish love to eat and as soon as you throw food into the water they move as a massive swarm toward the food. It is a pretty cool sight to see koi fish swim over each other for some food.
Jack B loves to look at koi fish over the railing. He also loves to take off his shoes. Jack B sees no problem with being shoeless and hence, he repeatedly tried to take off his shoes on the bridge. Mommy, thinking she was a bright one, tried to distract Jack B by pointing to the waterfall and letting him step on the railing for a better view. Jack B thought it would be a better idea to do it without his shoes. He knew it would make mommy upset so he decided on a compromise.
As they were looking over the bridge, Jack B kicked one of his shoes into the pond. "Splash," goes his one shoe, into the pond, with the fish. Fish started to swim toward the shoe, thinking that it may be food. Some nearby kids asked Mommy, "Were those his favorite shoes?" Mommy replied with a laugh, "I guess not." As the fish started group around the shoe, the nearby kids started to chant at the fish to, "EAT THE SHOE. EAT THE SHOE." Jack B, who loves being a team player, started to chant, "EAT THE SHOE" as well. Mommy just looked at Jack B and laughed, "But that's your shoe Jack!" Jack B just smiled and kept on chanting for the fish to eat his shoe.
