Trying out the beach in Long Beach

So Jeremy and I had the great idea to take Jack to the beach. The sun was out, it wasn't too hot, and the breeze was just right. So off we went (with Charlene and Ryan in tow) to the beach. Since we live in Long Beach, we thought it would be a good idea to take Jack to a local beach. Not bad really, if you like palm trees and oil refineries as the backdrop to a perfect beach day. Did Jack like the beach? Well, I think he liked going to the beach but he did not like the sand at the beach. He spent most of his time on Gammy's pink beach chair, above the sand. Everytime we would sit him in the sand he would lift up his legs as high as he could and give us a look of, "Hey, this is weird. What is this stuff? Pick me up." Funny to us but not to Jack. So he stayed seated in Gammy's chair, on his little island in the sun. He did, however, love the wind in his face and the beach toys. He loved the smiles and the attention from his mommy, daddy, Tita Charlene and Ryan. I think we will try the beach again soon.
